Our Practice

Shetty Orthodontics is an “Exclusive orthodontic practice” – This means that we limit our treatment to the correction of Tooth misalignment and other tooth position problems like protrusion, gaps etc. using either “Braces” or “Aligners”. This dedication and focus only on Orthodontics, ensures patient better-quality treatment and Superlative finishing.

Our Practice was established on 1974 by Dr. V Surendra Shetty, the first Orthodontist in the erstwhile South Kanara district. At present it is led by his son Dr. Siddarth Shetty. Our effort is to strive to exceed patient expectations and deliver world class orthodontics in Mangalore.

Dr V. Surendra Shetty

Founder

Dr V. Surendra Shetty, the founder and the guiding force of our practice, was the first Orthodontist in the erstwhile South Kanara district. Upon commencing his practice in 1974, and for almost 15 years thereafter, he was the only orthodontist for the districts of North Kerala and erstwhile North Kanara. He continued to practice Orthodontics till the year 2020 and is currently enjoying his retirement. Being a dynamic and pioneer Orthodontist, Dr V. S. Shetty has invested his 60 years of unparalleled expertise in the development and growth of dental awareness.

Dr. Siddarth Shetty

Orthodontist

Dr. Shetty completed his masters in Orthodontics at the Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore in 2002.
He was a Professor and HoD, Dept. of Orthodontics and Dentofacial Orthopaedics at Manipal College of Dental Sciences, Mangalore from 2011-2020.
He is Invisalign™ and ClearCorrect™ certified and has undergone training in Micro-implants and Lingual orthodontics at Daegu, S.Korea in 2012.

He was engaged in PG training for 19 years and is engaged in private practice limited to Orthodontics for 21 years.
He has been an invited speaker at 5 Indian Orthodontic Society conferences and has spoken on ‘Biomechanics for efficient Micro-implant assisted retraction’.
He has been awarded the 2nd place for competitive paper in the clinical category presented at Indian Orthodontic Conference, Ahmedabad in 2014.
He has been awarded the 1st place for competitive poster in the clinical category presented at Indian Orthodontic Conference, Bhubaneshwar in 2019.
He was a member of the Executive committee of the Indian Orthodontic Society (IOS) 2019-21, 2021-22, 2022-23.
He is a member of World Federation of Orthodontics (WFO).
